Care 4 Kids program helps make child care affordable for low to moderate income families in Connecticut. The State of Connecticut partners with families participating in the program and with child care providers.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible, families must live in Connecticut, meet the program’s income requirements, and meet the certain employment qualifications. Adults in the family must either be employed or enrolled in a temporary family cash assistance approved education facility or training activity. This benefit is available for children who live in Connecticut and the children must be under the age of 13. If your child has special needs, they could be eligible for this benefit until they turn 19.
Which providers qualify?
Parents can take their children to a care provider who is licensed by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood. You may also qualify if a relative such as a grandparent takes care of the child. Families may also qualify if the child is taken care of in their own home.
How do I apply?
You must complete a Care 4 Kids Application form and you must also complete a Parent-Provider Agreement form. The Parent-Provider Agreement form is an agreement between the family and child care provider who must describe the child care arrangements.
